About Us

Pembrokeshire is a unique and beautiful county situated on the south west coast of Wales, bordering the Atlantic Ocean. Its coastal edge is covered by the world renowned Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, and includes rugged coastline, cliffs, sandy beaches, seaside towns and offshore islands. Much of the county is rural and tranquil, with narrow lanes linking rich and fertile farmland.

Pembrokeshire County Council has responsibility for nearly £1 billion of assets.  There is a significant range of property and land, making their portfolio varied and interesting.  With a population of around 122,000 and around 7 million visitors a year including day trippers, there is plenty going on!  The portfolio comprises around 5,000 acres of farmland, a number of schools, operational council buildings, a range of retail and commercial, leisure centres, an airport, the Celtic Freeport as well as housing stock which is managed by the housing team.  Pembrokeshire has been successful securing Levelling Up Funding, and has a number of buildings of historical significance which provide both ongoing revenue and development opportunities.

Pembrokeshire County Council is the biggest employer in the county, with around 6,100 employees providing the essential services to meet the needs of its residents and visitors. These services include education and schools, social services, waste and recycling, housing and leisure and more. Our aim is to ensure that Pembrokeshire is prosperous and that it remains vibrant and special.
